Champenhayes Cottages
15th Century Farm buildings converted into luxury holiday cottages on the gentle slope of a West Dorset hillside. All the cottages have been designed to provide luxury and comfort while retaining the atmosphere of the old farm. The cottages and farmhouse have been awarded 5 stars by Visit Britain, their highest grade for comfort, location, décor and facilities in self catering accommodation.
Accommodation
Champernhayes is situated on the gentle slope of a West Dorset hillside, with woodland above and a stunning view of many square miles of fields below. Our southerly views are to the sea at Charmouth, 2 miles away, and just over the hill lies the charming historic port of Lyme Regis. Designated an area of outstanding natural beauty within the UK’s only natural World Heritage Site.
Each cottage has its own private garden complete with patio, hardwood garden furniture and gas barbeque. The heated indoor swim spa and Jacuzzi is available throughout the year. Excellent walks are literally right on your doorstep, along with the unspoilt Dorset/East Devon coastline, famous for its smuggling history, where you can stroll along the spectacular cliffs and seashore where the unique fossils abound.
The Farmhouse (sleeps 8/10)
This 15th Century thatched farmhouse. It has 4 bedrooms. Downstairs there is a twin bedroom with cloakroom/WC. Upstairs there are a further three bedrooms – Master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom with over-bath shower. Double bedroom with bathroom en-suite and a twin bedded room with separate bathroom.
The Barn (sleeps 10/12)
A stunning 16th Century thatched Barn conversion. There is a first floor sitting room with exposed A-frame beams, log burner and spectacular southerly views across the valley to the sea at Charmouth. On the Ground floor there are 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) shared bathroom. On the first floor – 3 bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin) all with en-suites. The cottage boasts large south facing private garden and patio area with glorious views across the Dorset countryside. A further 2 single beds are available for the downstairs twin room.
Blackbird (sleeps 6)
This is a 5 Star holiday cottage to sleep 6. It has a open plan sitting room with coal burning stove, and split level kitchen with dining area. There are 3 bedrooms:- Two double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms. One twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom.
Owl (sleeps 4)
A 5 Star holiday Cottage designed with less able guests in mind. Traditional country-style kitchen-open plan, with dishwasher, washer-dryer, electric cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer. Open plan sitting room with coal burning stove, dining area and kitchen. One double bedroom with en-suite shower room. One twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom.
Lark
A luxury cottage with 2 bedrooms, both ensuite and cosy open fire. It has an open-plan sitting room with coal burning stove, dining area and kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms. One double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and one twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom.
Swallow
Delightful 1 bedroom little cottage - perfect for a couple and those holidaying on their own. Open-plan sitting room with dining and kitchen area. There is one Double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and over-bath electric shower.
