The Old Sail Loft was originally built around 1900 as a family home overlooking Batson Creek. The loft was used to make sails which were then lowered down the outside of the house and carried down to the water's edge!
As the area around it has been developed, the house has continued to be a prominent feature of Salcombe, appearing on many postcards and promotional pictures.
Luckily, the outstanding views have not been compromised - the views over the town, estuary and surrounding countryside are breathtaking and can be seen from the all four floors on one side of the house.
The house was extensively renovated in 2005 and now provides a comfortable, stylish holiday home.
You can lie in bed, indulge in the bath, sit at the dining table, or barbeque on the patio and watch the boats go by on the estuary, listening to the sound of the seagulls
