Relaxing Scalp Massage
Massaging the scalp and hair with warm oil infused with hair friendly herbs is a great way to nourish the scalp. It also relaxes your mind and nervous system, promotes sound sleep and my help your memory too. For maximum enjoyment ask someone else to do it to you. A warm oil massage once a week:
- Conditions the scalp and prevents scalp dryness
- Relaxes the scalp and neck muscles, helping to combat stress and enhance blood circulation, so aiding hair growth.
- Strengthens and nourishes the hair root and shafts, strengthening exsisting hair and promoting new growth.
Beauty Tip: HOW TO MASSAGE YOUR SCALP
Jojoba oil is an ideal base oil for a scalp massage, using a few drops of frankincense & geranium for calming and rebalancing.
Pure a little oil into a bowl and place the bowl in hot water to warm the oil, oil should be warm and comfortable. Using the pads of your fingers work the oil into your scalp using circular motions. Slow deliberate movements are relaxing while steady but vigorous movements help to enhance energy and circulation.
Apply the oil a little at a time to different parts of the scalp, parting your hair as needed. Work some oil along the length of your hair too. Cover your entire scalp, all the way down the sides to your ears and the back of your neck. Leave the oil for at least 30 - 60minutes, longer if you can.
After your massage, dip a towel in hot water, wring it out and wrap it around your head. You can leave the oil in overnight - place a thick towel over your pillow to protect your bed linen. Wash out with a gentle, natural shampoo.

Skin Brushing
The skin covering you body is one of the most important organs for eliminating waste, responsible for one - quarter of the body's detoxification. Light brushing your skin with a dry , natural brush stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation, removes dead skin cells and encourages new skin cell growth. Skin brushing brings nutrients and oxygen to the upper layers of skin. It also:
- Tightens your skin
- Improves digestion
- Helps eliminate cellulite
- Increases cell renewal
- Helps cleanse your lymphatic system
- removes dead skin cells
- Strengthens your immune system
Beauty Tip: TO SKIN BRUSHING
Skin brushing can be incorporated easily into a daily routine. It will take only two or three minutes, depending on how many time you stroke each area, yet the health benifits are tremendous.
Brush your skin first thing in the morning, when the increased blood flow will help you wake up, or before a shower. Using a dry natural bristle brush, start at your feet and sweep up the legs in long, light, brisk movements. (Dont be too rough!)
Brush from your finger tips up to your shoulders and towards the heart ( to encourage the return of blood and encourage lymphatic flow). Use small strokes and gentle pressure.
Avoid face and any areas of skin irritation. Pay particular attention to cellulite-prone areas of your body such as thighs, brush your abdomen with a circular clock-wise motion.
Make sure you wash your body brush every few weeks in water and let it dry before using it again (mix few drops of tea tree oil in a water spray and spray onto brush this is a great anti-bacterial cleaning method).

Green Beauty Tip
Try and buy everything in big containers. According to Aveda, who are packaging shampoos and conditioners in litre-size packaging for Earth Month, one litre bottle uses 43 per cent less packaging than four 250 ml equivalents. And make sure packaging of all kinds is post consumer recycled (PCR). There’s weasel wording on many packages and ‘recyclable’ does not mean ‘recycled’.
