About “My Personal Sanctuary”
- Company Concept established 2005 by Gillian Lane
My background is Beauty Therapy & Spa Management and has been for 15 years.
My Personal Sanctuary was designed by myself and encouraged by my dear father Geoff Barker and my Husband Rick Lane. My Personal Sanctuary is a family affair run by myself and my sisters Laura & Jane Barker.
The company prides itself on ensuring all aspects of our work are of the highest levels in terms of customer care and professional service from our carefully selected therapists.
The concept of My Personal Sanctuary is based on a “Personal Beauty Service” whichis convenient, trendy, professional and, of course, organic!
Our Therapist provide treatments from a menu list designed by the use of Arran Aromatic Products, Handmade & Cultivated on the Island of Arran (again, another Friendly Family Business Owner!)
My Personal Sanctuary provides this service to Regional & Award Winning Properties, from intimate country cottages to magnificent halls & castles which are situated in the most beautiful parts of the UK.
We support the communities by providing work for the local therapists that are convenient and local to the properties. This service can encourage the locals to relax more and use “Therapy” on a regular basis at their local spas & salons.
How It All Began
My “Relaxation Therapy Services” began with an invitation by a Hall owner Sue Norgrove, to whom I owe a big thank you!
Sue started her own “Self Catering Holiday” business within a very modern newly renovated 20th Century Hall called Toft Hall. (See www.partyhouses.co.uk)
Toft Hall housed 23 Guests and became popular in weekend breaks, large celebration group parties and conferences.
Our relaxation therapy services were called upon and required frequently using myself and other freelance therapists, 2005 turned out to be an exciting year.
In 2006 business continued refreshing it’s self and I required more and more freelance therapists. To our amazement Toft Hall had a Barn development housing 12 guests requiring the service, later in the year there was another Hall development, Hamps Hall for 20 guests then, another surprise, Roaches Hall for 25 guests, then Hamps Barn for 20 Guests and so on....
While the weekend relaxation therapy services were running strong, I began contacting and visiting other self catering halls and cottages across Derbyshire in order to supply others with this similar service.
We are now the number one provider of 26 other established self-catering Halls and Cottages across Derbyshire. We provide on average 1 to 2 treatments each per client.
Because of the type of areas the guests are visiting (i.e. Derbyshire) you recognise this as 'out in the sticks' cosy countryside retreats which ideally attracts vistors as diverse as walkers and busy city slickers.
But all of them are thinking the same thing “Head out to the hills to de-stress”!
So combining a weekend of fresh air and a little indulgence turns out to be a perfect getaway!
Also a *big thank you* to my website designer John Shiel whom made this site for us to use with his creative imagination and intelligence, what a great bloke!
